First Home, Inc. (2004 – 2005)
Team Leader, Product Marketing Management & CRM
Reporting to the President, my main objectives at First Home, Inc. were two-fold: generate as many customer leads as possible, and capture as many clients as possible from those leads. To this end, I spearheaded the relaunch of our main consumer website and revamped all our marketing collateral and client marketing channels. As well as this, I developed a customer relationship management (CRM) database, allowing us to track our communications with clients, and their progress through our pipeline. Some of my key measurable successes are listed below.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and evolve marketing strategy for First Home’s product portfolio
- Productise and market our two core products: homebuyer seminars and homebuyer counseling
- Develop product marketing plans and manage all marketing channels
- Direct client marketing and client communications, identify leads and convert to prospects
- Develop and maintain clear and efficient communications system to enable quality service
Achievements:
- Implemented new marketing strategy and client communications system, increasing lead capture (by 64%) and prospects generated (by 26%) in 7 months.
- Successfully reduced marketing, communications and administration expenditure by 61% whilst increasing customer leads in the same time period.
- Designed, built and implemented First Home’s first CRM database (SQL), used to track all communications with clients as well as First Home’s active pipeline of current & prospective clients.
- Formulated requirements, lead and project managed the development and launch of main consumer website (www.myhomegateway.com ). Traffic to our websites has increased by over 450% since its relaunch in November 2004.
British Telecom Plc. (2000 – 2003)
Product Manager – Video Conferencing Enterprise Solutions (2001 – 2003)
Responsible for developing, launching and managing a key BT product line. I lead and project managed the successful launch of several products and played a key role in bid propositions that won major global sales and service contracts for BT. All projects were delivered on time and to budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage product line and lead in the development of new products from feasibility & design through to launch.
- Prepare product plans and MRD’s for innovations to new & existing products, in line with company strategy
- Build and lead cross-functional teams through all stages of product development
- Direct, co-ordinate and project manage new product development (facilitating communication between technical, marketing, legal, customer services, finance & suppliers).
- Establish and maintain relationships; negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers for requirements, project plans, price, and service level agreements.

Achievements:
- Lead senior team to develop and launch BT’s flagship enterprise conferencing solution, BT MeetMe. This solution won contracts with UK government and high profile clients: Ford , Shell & BP .
- Successfully lead and project managed the entire development cycle for a bespoke enterprise video-conferencing solution for Ford. The project was delivered on-time and on budget as part of a multi-million dollar contract.
- Successfully designed & implemented an internal Product Management intranet site for BT conferencing to enable sharing of information and best practices.
Human Factors / Product Manager – BT Openworld (2000 – 2001)
As Interaction Designer for BT Openworld , I worked with graphic designers and coders to design user interfaces for BT Openworlds’ business and consumer web products. With particular emphasis on meeting requirements and ensuring high standards of usability, I was involved in the development and launch BT Openworlds’ flagship products in the consumer sector. The development of BTwebmail, earned me the BT Reward & Recognition Award for 2001.

- Lead development teams (both internal and external) in the design, development and release of consumer web products

Ericsson Ltd., Wireless Software Design [now SonyEricsson] (1998 – 2000)
User Interface / Human Factors Specialist
I joined Ericsson Graduate Programme as a Software Engineer working on 2.5G development for Ericsson ’s GSM network solution. My keen interest in mobile devices and usability soon became known within the company and when an opening arose in the wireless internet development field, I was given the opportunity to apply my skills in this domain. I formed part of an advanced team, playing a key part in the design and development of the numerous successful and high profile projects for Ericsson.
Responsibilities included:

- Research, specify and evaluate WAP/mobile products
- Develop conceptual prototypes and assess their feasibility
- Discuss WAP usability issues with mobile device design teams
- Consult on and evaluate UI designs for internal and external customers

Products/Achievements include:
- Co-lead a team of 3 to develop and launch the world’s first ever GSM WAP broadcast of a live sporting event at the Rugby World Cup 1999. This was showcased at the World Cup and was accompanied by a worldwide press release.
- Designed & developed user interfaces for Ericsson’s first smart cellphones: R320, R380 & MC218.
- Integral part of a cross-functional, cross-organizational team that developed high profile wireless applications for marquee customers: T-Mobile, BT and Telenor
