Soccer
Personal Summary
12+ years soccer coaching experience with youths and adults. A lifelong player and student of tactics, I combine a deep understanding of soccer and other sports with an open, enthusiastic and likeable personality.
Philosophy:
As a role model, I understand the significance of my words and actions. I believe that the values learned in soccer provide a good framework for leadership and teambuilding in other aspects of life: career, community & relationships. The teaching of leadership by example, positive thinking and compassion for adversaries, as well as teammates, is the centerpiece to a good sporting philosophy.
Coaching Objectives:
- Using proven CYSA methods, break down key soccer concepts & techniques into the building blocks of teamwork & skill development.
- Infuse a sense of ownership in all players so that they can understand the shared benefits, responsibilites & rewards of building a team together.
- Understand every player’s background & personal objectives. Motivate each team member to believe in their ability to achieve their personal goals, as they combine to contribute to a cause greater than themselves.

FC Storm Women’s Soccer Team, San Francisco
Head Coach 2004 – 2007
Won promotion to the GGWSL Premier Division as champions of Division One in 2004. With a squad size of 14-15 players we maintained our position in the Premier Division during my tenure as coach. Coaching a competitive women’s team helped broaden my understanding about the nuances of communication, concept teaching and social dynamics with all genders. This improved my coaching of both boys and girls.
British Telecom, London
Vice-Captain 2000 – 2003
This was not an official coaching position. BT plays in an amateur league consisting of blue chip and government organizations: IBM, Microsoft, Metropolitan Police etc. As team vice-captain, I organized drills for practices and pre-game warm-ups.
